1999 was the 3rd year Team Split Rock participated in the 24hrs of Allamuchy in one form or another. The race starts at 12:00pm on Saturday and finishes 12:00pm Sunday. The team with the most laps in 24hrs wins. We competed in the 5 person open class which requires 1 woman and no more than 1 expert man. All riders must complete at least 2 laps. The team members consisted of Dave Baker, Cathy Coloff, Pete Gilman, Scott Hummel and myself. Despite a drought for most of the summer, it did manage to rain during the week prior to dampen things up a bit. It did stay dry during the race though. We led for the majority of the race and managed to pull off a first place finish for the third year in a row. As usual, thanks to all who helped out. We couldn't have done it with out you. That pizza at 11:00pm Saturday night really hit the spot.
